So the inevitable happened. I knew it was just a matter of time. A couple of weeks ago my three dogs flushed out a mama bear and her cub. This time it was a mountain lion. Suddenly like with the bear the dogs suddenly bolted towards the bushes and out comes a lion. Maybe 10 feet from me down a slight hill. It stops and looks at me while I’m screaming for my dogs. Maybe that scared the lion?? It then walks away down the trail as the dogs finally come back to me. I decided that I wasn’t going to follow the cat down the trail but rather go back the way I came. Man o man what a rush.I couldn’t take a picture because I was reaching for my knife without taking my eyes of it. I think it was a female maybe 110 to 120 lbs. I need to change my underwear now.

My dogs are afraid of my garage cats. I’m sure they freaked when they flushed out King Kong kitty.

I'd think that if I was in the woods, and the lion was going to attack me, my last thought would be something like "what I'd put in PPOT's 'Tools that you don't have but could use' if I get out of this alive."

That's a weird thought, but I think I would think that.

I knew that was coming. Man, my first thought was to go for my buck knife. Probably wouldn’t have done any good but the phone wasn’t on my radar. Wish I would of though!

I saw a video of Kevin Hart talking about his experience shooting the film Jumanji the other day. He was preparing to shoot a scene with a lion. He's afraid of animals. He noticed that the camera and camera people were inside a cage, and he was nervous. He asked the animal handler who was Australians (and somehow this is better if you imagine the accent), "what should I do if something happens?"

The animal handler told him, "If the lion starts to charge you, reach back into your pants, grab a handful of poo, and throw it at the lion's face."

Kevin asked, "what if there isn't any poo?"

To which the handler responded, "don't worry, it'll be there."

LOL .... oh well.... it works on deer and foxes .

I've used mine to freeze a mama fox with her youngins while I could get my Lab to come to me .... didn't want my Lab to get hurt while going after the fox .... and my girl is fearless.

Now that I have calmed down I’m thinking that when the dogs went after mama bear she went up a tree and it seemed wasn’t a threat. When the lion appeared she or he stood its ground. The dogs thought “no way”! They disappeared into the woods. I think I’m taking them to the lake from now on.😃

that's a BIG kitty. Unless you've got a half a dozen or more dogs or they are all 125#+, yeah, you need to start walking in a new place or carrying something a bit more useful than a knife.
