It's been hot here lately...they eat more than when it's cold.
The opposite of me.

Shrimp and veggie pellets!

If the turtles don't want them I'll eat them.

Their food is more costly than my food....and I still have to feed them.

When I die...I want to come back as a family pet.

Feeding is over...time for a nap.
Tomorrow will be the same.. eat, nap, eat, sleep...repeat.

(sounds similar to my daily)

My childhood memories are of catching ~26 painted's and putting them in an aluminum canoe to scratch for a hour or two.
Caught several diving at more than one point. Three even.
[Swim around a lake. Dive under about 15-20ft away. Emerge under the log they are all sunning on. They fall into your hands or dive for the bottom.]

I remember a camp councilor from up north holding up a Snapper about two feet wide. He was young and Irish stout but could barely lift it for long. Solid man. That thing was a big sucker. Two hands on a tail a half foot wide. Head like a bulldog.

Another time someone held up a softy a foot across. That was a wild ride. Quick buggers to catch and so fast. Those necks stretch to the tail and even more. That incident didn't last long until it was put back down on the ground as I remember.

The goldfish look happy to have sunshine on their backs. Nice and active.

^^^ they're always looking for the turtles to be fed. Turtles get the largest mouthful they can and lose half of it in the water trying to chew it up. The goldfish are like sharks around the mess.

Funny you should say sharks.

I joke with GF that my goldfish are circling like sharks and it would be mayhem if I was late with their breakfast.

My guys stay active throughout the winter and demand breakfast every day. Whereas guy in the petshop said he only feeds his pond fish once every four days in the summer and not in the winter. It's winter here now and never really gets all that cold.

Haha, one of the goldfish has self appointed itself as breakfast organiser and charges around the pond full speed mimicking feeding so Food Guy will get the idea to feed them.

Winters here are too cold, so I keep the fish and turtles in the basement or the garage until spring. They are barely fed for at least 4 months...they hardly move at all in that time.

I can tell when the turtles are hungry when they are outside...they park themselves next to the food bowl until I fill it.

Makes one truly believe that pets teach the owners...instead of the opposite.
