Bi-xenon and H7 bulbs cheap vs expensive

Hey guys it's been a long time since I purchased replacement headlight bulbs . How times have changed . Yesterday I installed replacement headlights in my 1999 Porsche 996 . Purchased them used . I wanted to make sure they work and they do .

So I am going to install all new bulbs for a good baseline and best performance . I purchased locally some Sylvania high performance H7's for the high beams . They were 35 bucks for a pair .

Purchased online Hella 5000k bi-xenon bulbs they were 75 bucks for the pair for the low beams. In both cases prices are all over the place . Literally $3.00 to $189.00 per bulb !!! Some made in China , some Korea and some Germany . Are the real high priced bulbs that superior ? I don't drive much at night so any bulb that works is probably good enough . Just curious what your experience has been with " modern " headlight bulbs .

I changed out the dim stock light on my Cayman S finally because I just couldn't see in the dark anymore. I decided to use Morimoto's bulbs, 5000k. Oh man, what a difference. Nice cut off, no blinding for on coming drivers. Nice and bright. Not too expensive, give it a go. It was a huge change for me.

To close this out , the Hella and Sylvania bulbs work great . Perfect fit , bright with good cut off . Nice white light no visible blue color . I am happy with the results .
