Virtual Receptionist Kiosks
Have seen/used them a few times in Med Centers and Hospitals....this was the first time in a hotel this past week in FL.
Walking into the lobby, I noticed nobody was at the front desk. The 5ft kiosk had a sign to 'tap the screen'. The guy immediately appeared with a head set on...he said he was taking care of multiple locations at once. Told me to place my ID on the scanner and asked 'how many room keys needed?' Spit them out and we were done. Bye bye receptionists. It was super smooth...but I hate to see jobs disappear. |
Just the beginning. 10 of millions of jobs are going to disappear over the next 10 years.

The kiosk had motion detectors on it. I was walking too close to it later on and the same guy popped up and asked "Is there anything I can help you with?".....lol

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. |

I one starred this- not because you suck- but because I don't like where society is going.
(edit- and it's not like we will see one dime of savings on medical bills) |

It was a real person...not a virtual person. Red hair and about 25 years old. The next day, I noticed a gal had taken his place. |

I think the ones in med centers really got started good when Covid hit. They are here to stay now. |
