Is Loreto in Baja any good?
 

We want to get away in the 3rd week of November. We have not really been to Mexico before - I went once as a kid.

Is there anything to do in Loreto? Is it safe to explore?

We were there in 2017 and 2018. Had a great time! It's a beautiful place to visit plus that direct flight from YYC to Loreto in some 4 hours was an easy plane ride. It was very safe back then. The village of Nopolo, Loreto is very safe and within a guarded community. We had some great hikes and played a ton of golf. Things maybe different now with the effen US border situation and the proliferation of the Cartels so look into that. The casita rentals are very cool. All seem to have rooftop decks which were cool and gave you great views of the beautiful Sea of Cortez. Great food too! You must go to Pedro's on Tuesday nights for their Margarita nights...lot's of fun, music, dancing, and some great locals to hang out with!

^^^How true! And the fact that's it's the last pic I posted is rather....daunting! LOL!

Up in Kanaduh we don't get dem birds up here, except for Vancouver Island perhaps? My younger bro's hen house in Mill Bay, BC get's a visit here and there from turkey vultures.

Did a solo trip down the Baja with the old truck and camper many years back. I remember being in Loreto on their Day of the Dead celebration. Was a fun time!
Loreto has some pretty nice golf courses now and direct flights in from Calgary.
Nice weather for the most part of the fall.
Kayak touring is another big draw for the area.
