iPad data recovery
The charging port has gone bad. It’s beyond any local means of repair. Of course I’m not properly backed up.
Who knows a service that can rip the damn thing apart and get some files off? |
Will one of the conductive charging pad things work?
What has been backed up automagically to the iCloud account? Will send teams message to our resident i-Thing person on campus |
It’s an older first gen. No charging pad option. Was hoping to hang on til the next gen hit in 2024.
Lost about a weeks work. Worth money to me to get it back. |
If I had bomb making schematics somebody could forensics it off there.

Try going into Apple Store.
Next local computer groups to find a techie. My parents used to have a guy living in the basement who rebuilt and fixed those machines which went 'ping'. |
Apple is staffed with useless chodes. They will hand me a new iPad and flush the old one with all the data. That is policy.
|
Try a local repair store. They may be be able to solder in a new charge port.

Just got my old iphone 6s+ with a bad charging port charged up enough to get my pics and contacts out of it. The trick was a thin strip of a business card inserted in the port and then I forced the charging plug in with some effort. This forces the contacts to contact. Be sure the paper is on the side opposite the contacts.
