I agree on the paper mill smell. There was one in a city about a half hour from me.
They tore it down, but it was so bad smelling that I think they were forced to do it. |
Would you prefer a great view over a pungent odour?
Here was the view: The community of Nopolo , Loreto, Mexico http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1696810572.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1696810572.JPG Our rental had a fantastic view of the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra De La Giganta! But, very close by was a sewage treatment facility. If the wind blew in from the west or the south....no problemo! But, if it blew in from the North? A La Pipeta! El Hedor!! |
Growing up in Westport, Connecticut, we were right on the border with Norwalk, Connecticut, where a Pepperidge farm cookie or bread factory was located. If the wind was just right, we could smell it and it was delicious.
In North Charleston, we have a pulp and paper plant located on the corner of I-526 and the Wando River. It’s stinks. When the kids were little, we used to call it the stink factory, as that was where bad smells were made. Now, when we are driving by or giving a reference point, we still call it the stink factory. When I was driving in Atlanta last Thursday evening, I got near a semi truck hauling some thing that smelled like rotting garbage. As I passed it, the name of the door was XYZ Feed and Grain. |
Just north of Charlotte, proud home of Cheerwine....
"Stinkytown" as it was called as a kid.... Brunswick, GA .... yep. And Jax .... if the wind is coming from the northside.... mebbe 10 days per year :(. No wonder we have gone "paperless" as of late :D |
