A couple of dumb questions

Does anyone here (pelicans) have a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame?

Does anyone here (pelicans) own a Citroen SM, or any other Citroen ?

PS I loved those old Euro movies, mostly French, with those beautiful Citroens.

I once drove a Citroen SM (with the Maserati engine) from Halifax, NS to my home
in PEI for a friend who had just purchased it. I loved it, it was so cool. Thanks for lookin'

Jay Leno has both, but I doubt he's a Pelican.

Byron probably has both but he'd be too humble to admit it. ;)

I can only say that I lusted after a Citroen SM but anyone who knew even a little about those said stay away. At one time Citroen owned Maserati and that's why the marriage of the engine to the car. Citroen took ownership in 1968 but their bankruptcy ending in 1975 had Maserati saved from liquidation by the Italian government and an Argentine industrialist named de Tomaso.

The Bora, a Maserati from the beginning, shared some Citroen parts but they ran out in 82 or 83 and the Bora disappeared. I believe it was also called a Merek as well but the engine changed and the cabin became a 2+2. Lots of similarities under the skin. Unless you're a cognoscenti, it's a little fuzzy.

But the theme connecting all of this was the V6.

There was two of these threads. Our posts are like tears in the rain.

Is his Citroën in boxes?

sc_rufctr 10-24-2023 12:40 PM

Yep... Fooled me. ;)

I remember one of my first Matchbox cars was a Citroën SM, always thought those were cool, futuristic looking cars.

Merged like the 101 and the 405.

I'm sure he would be open to trades. :)

My father used to have a Citroen CX, I loved that car…
Personally never owned a Citroen, only Peugeots.

Another very tasty one.

I had high hopes for this one, but it's too citrusy. It seems more orangey than giny. It's got a great name though.

AKA a "Gin Buck".
Back in the day, it was Bombay gin for me.
I also remember a gin drink with lemonade and champagne but can't remember the details. Haven't had one drop of alcohol since spring 1982.

My father debated buying an SM in 1974. He purchased a MB 450se instead.
I do not have a star on Hollywood Blvd, but I did go out with Jason Momoa's doppelganger. We had nothing in common, but good god, did I care?
