Hey whatever, I do it too. But at least I have a gas car

There's one here in town. Saw it at the Dairy Queen last week and then on the barrier island later in the day.

I think they're cool as hell looking, myself!

...Either that or denying they ever owned one.

One of my plant operators just sold his Aztec. He replaced it with a Honda Element!!! Not joking!

The Cybertruck is uglier than both of those combined.

BTW: My operator wanted to get "Meth Mobile" plates for it. We have a "methane" plant.

they should have given the designer something more than a ruler and a crayon.

URY914 08-05-2024 06:28 AM

I've seen several around here that are painted or have wraps on them. Seen a green one and an orange one. Of course there is one in the doctor's parking lot at the hospital.

Once you choose that material for the body your options are very limited.

At least the element has a lot of cool functionality built in to it.
Awesome, methmobile. He should do it.

You aren't kidding.

sc_rufctr 08-05-2024 03:13 PM

All OK but how are they selling?

(There's almost no reliable information about production numbers online)

Raccoons Can’t Resist Breaking Into Tesla Cybertruck Models

The ugliest vehicle I think I've ever seen. I told my 7 year old twins that they could build something that looks better out of plywood and just paint it with a roller. I mean really? A truck?

skinnerd 08-05-2024 10:18 PM

We have a couple of them running around town here.
The slab flat sides are not really that straight with all kind of waviness going on.
WTH.....

The Element is a bit of a cult car now, with high value. It was always a cheap and basic car, but I like it's funkiness. Hoseable vinyl interior, suicide doors. I sold one to a customer who was going to have a pop top installed.

I wonder what this one will bring. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2005-honda-element-15/

somehow the longer they are out, the more of a meme they are.

like they started as a meme, and its only gotten worse the more of them they make. what a just awful vehicle.

I agree, I tend to think a few years from now you wont see many around. They’ll be like say, the Pacer. Kinda cool and unique for a while but then people realize they are just awful.

People destroying new/perfectly serviceable stuff for youtube clicks makes me a bit sick.

big time DeLorean vibes honestly.

like some cars start as a meme, and then as more and more are used they just become normal. like the bangle BMWs, the Z4, the new M4 etc, like being ugly when you are brand new, is not a necessarily curse, if its a good car, people will buy it, and as it becomes more normal, more people will like it.

that is not what is happening to the cyber truck. the longer its out, the more everyone hates it. mostly because its a joke of a truck, and its ugly, and its expensive, and its unreliable.

Yes, this is what will ultimately doom it. The fact that it’s hideous will just speed the process a bit. I’m honestly not a fan of ANY Tesla. Not impressed with fit/finish or looks of any of them, and they are VERY slow to update the model lines. I just saw something the other day that 50% of Tesla’s that are traded in at dealerships, are being traded for gasoline cars - not a good sign for long term viability. People are buying them to experiment and then it loses its luster.

He definitely capitalized on that feeling and made tons of money offending people breaking stuff. You should watch his video destroying a brand new Ferrari. Now, the day he destroys a classic 911, he will have crossed the line ;).

gregpark 08-10-2024 08:21 AM

A couple hundred judgmental opinions here but all without anyone actually driving one? The Car and Driver driving review on you tube really makes me want to drive one. Quite the technological wonder and the tester couldn't wipe the chit eatin grin on his face when checking out beast mode
