Nope.

Real food, or nothing. America leads the world in processed food and GMO tinkering and our unhealthy population and dwindling lifespans are the result. Spend a week in a country like Italy, or France, where they haven’t screwed everything up and actually have some pride in what they put on the table and you’ll see what I mean. By comparison, we eat garbage and I don’t want anything but some basic transportation getting between my food supplier and me.

I have almost no use for our big corporations and more than a little contempt.

100% agree. Food in this country is largely crap. You are WAY better off having real, grass fed beef versus that beyond junk that is full of lord knows what.

It is one of my goals in life to eat a Bresse chicken.

Preferably in Lyon.

Heck yes. I spent four months in France and Italy last year, and the food was terrific, it mostly came down to amazing raw ingredient quality - that and the apparent absence of deep fryers.

(don't forget steak tartar, escargots, and all those other things they do so well)

Bread, raw milk cheeses, cepes…

the funny thing, is that the grass fed beef is likely full of more stuff than lab grown meat, or beyond replacement.

cows and slaughterhouses are filthy places, much dirtier than labs and factories.

I laugh out loud every single time I hear someone who thinks eating meat is unhealthy. It is just so ridiculous, I find it hilarious

I won’t get into all the reasons why you’re ridiculously wrong but one issue I have is it’s not just the meat, it’s everything that goes with it. When I go get a cheeseburger, I’m eating the bun, the French fries or onion rings and maybe a coke or a milk shake…really awesome for a diabetic with heart disease…or anyone else

And my idea of meat is a rack of baby back ribs so according to you I can eat all of the I want huh? Awesome

I saw Food Inc. about a year after it came out and even though I have cooked professionally and typically bought real food, I would buy things that came in boxes now and again. The movie literally changed the way I bought food 12-13 years ago. I'm pretty sure the only thing not kosher in my fridge is a bottle of Ken's Steak House Russian dressing for reubens and burgers.

I've been wanting to try Bresse chicken since, I think, Patrick or Mark (doesn't post here anymore) brought them up years ago. Forgot about them. Farm and hour north of me in Maine has U.S. bread ones so I'll be getting one soon. Same with Guernsey milk (I drink a gallon+ of whole milk a week), also in Maine but 3 hours away so I suspect a road trip is in order.

See the movie.
