I dont know what to think any more. The dog had a hard tumor on her skull for 2 years and then one day she could not jump up on the bed which was very unusual. We thought she injured her back or something. This was on x-mas eve. The vet did an xray and said her lungs were full of cancer and she needed to be put down immediately. As in, right now. huh?

We took her home for x-mas and brought her back the next day.....I am full of regret and sadness. I should have looked a those X-rays or gotten a 2nd opinion. We have 2 other dogs and I seriously fear the future. I have begged my wife, no more dogs. I cant handle any more of this sadness.

Adorable dog.

I've never taken my dog(s) to the vet. Vaccine regiment that they recommend has caused more than a few veterinarians their careers when they whistleblow on the tumor(s)/cancer they cause...

Veterinarians are a cash service that appeals to the emotions of the owner. Finding the right one is hard, but the new graduates are 200-400k in debt from the school and their decisions are based off that...

What a f'd up experience. You've been carrying around that weight that burden and need to let it go. For you and everyone else. Go talk to that vet in person and tell them everything that went wrong. It's your call whether to relate it all loudly right in front of all the other employees and customers. Everyone has a boss and a reputation. But people do make mistakes they regret later.

Give him/her a chance to somehow explain and apologize. There is a phone book with a list of other businesses. You are owed that. But arrive open handed and leave open handed. Some kinds of stupid can't be fixed. He or she may have realized this already or maybe they are incapable. Your mere presence will say more than enough. Humans are also pack animals capable of correcting the bad ones. Maybe not now but later on that karma catches up. And then you will have personal closure and know perhaps something has been made better .

The Vet actually owns the practice....she is in her 60s and should know better by now. We still go there unfortunately.....but we rarely see her. They have a new nice younger vet who we like but when I step in there and I walk past that room i want to cry.

I have given the Vet a pass in my mind....but I do carry the weight of this around every single day. Our other dog died shortly before but he was extremely sick and he was practically laying there half dead already so it felt a relief.

Its funny how these animals impact us. I sat holding my grandfather's hand when they turned off the life support....felt his hand go cold. Found my other grandfather dead on the kitchen floor, on and on so many people I cared about that I have lost but these pets are sometimes harder to accept and deal with what ends up happening....maybe because they are so helpless and we know they depend on us for everything so we blame ourselves.

I dont have kids so the dogs are literally my family. ug.

I was just listening to the news and heard a local story about a faimily's horse that was pregnant and somehow strayed of the property and someone shot it with a shotgun and killed it.....Skytrooper probably heard it too since he is local to me. How F'd up is that. How sad. IDK, i just have a deep love for animals so this stuff really gets to me.
