Got a new to me ghetto cruiser. 04 Town Car
You can get these old boats cheap, and they ride like a cruise ship. Don’t want to take them on any back roads though.😀 Every option, including the sunroof.

Nice

Steve Carlton 11-12-2023 10:48 AM

Can't beat that, as long as you don't burn a lot of gas.

stevej37 11-12-2023 10:54 AM

Looks clean...
Those cars are built.
Any idea of the weight?

Steve Carlton 11-12-2023 10:54 AM

Adequate.

Little more than 4000 lbs
Built like a tank.
And cheap enough that I only got liability insurance. That’s another plus.

There was a 95k Grand Marquis near me for $6k or so. Should have bought it. They are pretty solid for Ford's.

You must keep the plastic “chrome” side cladding. Its gloriously tacky.

RANDY P 11-12-2023 04:13 PM

Elderly special. Drive slow in the LH lane, turn signals on. Don't forget the curb feelers.

stevej37 11-12-2023 04:17 PM

^^^ curb feelers would up the value by a couple grand.

At 72 I ain’t tracking anymore. But not ready for driving slow in the left lane. Yet!😀 the 911 doesn’t come out of the garage, but maybe once a month to keep the flat spots off the tires.

If anybody is interested , Im pulling my dads out of the garage soon to sell it off . It is the same basic car and colors . It was near perfect , with fairly low miles . It needs a fuel pump, some brakes and tires ,ill take care of all of that before I sell it .
They are super reliable and actually get decent fuel mileage on the highway . Rides like your couch

Quick Sea Story.

Early 2000's and a co-worker and I are returning from a trip to the West Coast in July.

We make ATL but get weathered in, flight cancelled earliest next flight later the next day.

My sister lives in South Carolina so we decide to get a rental and stay with her then get up early for the trip back to Patuxent River.

We are not alone. By the time we get to Hertz the only few cars remaining were Town Cars, etc.

Best thing we ever did. Those things eat up the interstate in comfort and minus freezing a/c:cool:

Enjoy!
