Hoot...anybody living in Oregon then remembers this...Oregon officialdom at it's best.
This video always makes me laugh
I don't mean to PARF this up and will try hard not too, but in my opinion this event was the point at which Oregon truly "jumped the shark".
I think this was one of the first instances of an "Oregon" decision so stupid that the rest of the country just couldn't believe it. What did they think would happen when they placed a bunch of explosives under a whale? Or when they decided to (insert any other bad-Oregon-decision-with-an-obvious-outcome here)? |
Should have captured the whale oil.
Remember this well. I think parts of it landed all the way up here in Washington.
The explosion that was smelled for hundreds of miles.
Maybe if we just spread it around a bit…
Isn't there a video somewhere odd a whale carcass being trucked through a small Japanese town and exploding right in front of the camera?
Best Les |
Well, if they just used a bigger incendiary explosive, they could have had pieces of flaming whale falling out of the sky!
It does mat one wonder, what were they thinking, or were they thinking at all. It is like Will Rogers said "“Everything is funny as long as it is happening to somebody else.” |
We haven't spoken in more than 25 years, but I knew Paul personally. According to him, that was his most memorable story.
