I found a cheap device thats a damn miracle, $15 on amazon for "therapists choice air filled stability balance disc"
I originally got one for a buck at the thrift store, liked it so much I bought one for my parents. They keep theirs on the floor in front of the sink, standing on ball of one foot with good posture while rinsing dishes works everything from ankle to abs. Edit: Balance board: someone gave me one 20 years ago. We've still got it but... once you get the hang of it its pretty involved to get a benefit from it (eg: touching floor with hands.) That stupid cheap air balance disc is something you can just use in your kitchen, doesn't get in the way and won't damage anything. |
When I was in assisted living I was getting PT weekly, sometimes we would go out in the hall to have more room to move. One of the PT guys would test me by giving me a random push in any direction. I was thinking "this is easy!"
Then he said "now close your eyes" Not so easy Then my devious mind started thinking "what dose this look like, a young guy pushing an old guy around?" Should I yell "senior abuse!" |
Saw the balance disks on Amazon while looking at balance balls....
STOP LOOKING AT MY BALLS!!! Sorry I'll look at the disks, over the years I have had a few girlfriends with various disks, balls, trampolines all in pristine condition 😉 the trampoline was the only thing I tried |
It sounds like you are making progress, and this is excellent.
I remember a quote from a friend who was a trainee physio and he said at school they would say "If it physical it's therapy." Which I guess is polite speak for get out there and do things. |
