Foam Cannons are great for washing cars.

Putting the cars away for the winter and their final wash before the car cover goes on. On my Off-Road rigs I use a foam cannon on my pressure washer to get rid of all the grime. It coats my C4S well, in a ton of foam.

I highly suggest you pick one up. Cheap on amazon right now.

Do you need special soap and how much did you use?

Standard Car wash soap, I used Macgyvers Gold. maybe 1/2 cup of liquid. Doesn't take much.

I gotta try this! my whole house siding.

I've been doing the same for about 12 months. The trick is the dwell time. Let the foam do its job but no too long. When the car is really dirty I still use a sponge. Note the extra long pressure hose for my Karcher. Mine is 7 meters (7.65 Yards) long. That alone make life really easy.

About 5 minutes later and just before the final rinse.

Been looking into FC's. It all looks good. Just wanted to say I've spent some time on the subject.

What's the minimum psi pressure washer you could get away with?

I've been interested for a while but I don't have an electric PW, and I don't want to have to run the gas powered unit just to use a foam cannon; the electric one would most likely be dedicated to the cannon

It is great for pre cleaning but let nobody fool you into thinking you don’t have to hand wash it afterwards. Even if using a pressure washer, my experience is that it is never as clean as if you hand wash.

You don't need a pressure washer to use a foam cannon..

I picked up a chemical Guys detailing kit when I bought my Cayman, and a hose end foam cannon was included

Foam Cannon

After battling the water and hose and trying to find a shady spot to wash the car, I switched to Maguire's Waterless Wash and Wax.
I like it a lot...it's been at least 3 years since I've used water for the cars.

Maguires Hybrid Ceramic Wax - I hate it. Tried two full bottles. (Blue stuff)

Maguires Hybrid Ceramic Detailer- I LOVE this stuff. (Green stuff). I use this after every other wash. Been using it 2 years. Try it.

I need a foam cannon.

No, you don't need a pressure washer but it does help. Just use the large fan and get close when you get to the wheels.

FC sounds about as good and quick as a commercial car wash.
FC doesn't remove oxidation right?

Before I wax a car I like to remove all oxidation with a clay bar micro fiber towel.

I ahve been thinking about getting a pressure washer. No more gas, it will be elect or even battery only I never need anything that powerful anymore. With this foam, do most of you just shoot, let sit for a certain amount time so the foam does its job, rinse off, dry? I have been dying to try Turtle Wax's wet wax. Pour it on when the car is still wet. Dry and its shiny again?

Mine is a "Karcher K 2. 180." bought more than 10 years ago. It works really well (& it was cheap) but I don't know what PSI it's rated at.

However the current "Karcher K 2" Pressure Washer is rated at "Maximum 1750 PSI".

You are correct Mr Ted. Nothing works as well as a proper hand wash but I can FC my car in about 15 minutes total (drip dry except for the flat surfaces and the windows). The trick is to do it often but I use about 100 mils of soap with ever wash so that's something to consider.

Pete, tell me about this clay bar micro fiber towel. Do you use it black side down, drag it across a roof or hood over water or detail solution or it is just another name of a series of micro fiber towels?
