Even better if I was wearing one.

Im 53 and have worked on almost everything at one point or another, but never messed with any harley craysons before .
I got roped into helping a bud with some work on his . So far, its been good fun, and I am enjoying it way more than I would have thought . We call it Friday night book club . last 4 Fridays, we hang out after work and have been tearing it down to the frame while consuming alcohol, and listening to good music. Tonight, we will pull the motor, and start blasting the frame , swing arm, and other pieces that are to get painted . Ill probably still never own one, but after tinkering with it , I sort of get it now . your bike is cool ! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1705064017.jpg |
Harleys are cool, in their own way. That Twin Cam motor in your buddy's is my favorite. Other than the first year cam bearing issue (much like the 996/986 intermediate shaft bearing issue) they are bulletproof. I've said this here before - my two Twin Cams have proven to be the most reliable, trouble free machines I have ever owned, two wheels or four. Yeah, some folks deride them for their "lack of performance" and other perceived deficiencies. They do what they do very, very well though. If I were to set out from Seattle for Florida tomorrow, it would be on a Harley touring bike.
