Just received the new Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Easy setup and prints decent.

Had to print the bin for the poop chute as it doesn't come with one. Had some copper PLA to test so might as well!

My business partner has a 3D printer. He uses Solidworks to design. I got him to come look at my 911 and how much a pain it is to add oil to the tank, especially for an oil change. You can see the funnel holds onto the stock air intake, and does not move.

He had to struggle to figure out the right angles and make it work. It is designed for my 85 911 3.2 Carrera. The funnel sits in place, and a bottle of oil will just sit in the top all by itself, and drain out without holding the dang bottle.

The tip of the funnel has a screw on cap to keep that end clean, and and just stuff a paper towel in the other end. The funnel stays clean. This is the funnel right off the printer with the supports that snap off when done.

I have been selling them for $35 delivered to your USPS mailing address.

I figured for $300 out the door the Centauri Carbon would be a good starter printer if you want to do FDM.

I had picked up a used ($50) Monoprice MP III unit, which worked suprisingly well right off the bat. I've been designing dozens of basic brackets, caps, things like that. i also made a bunch of mounts that let me store telescopes (round things) on those stainless wire rack shelving units (flat things)...

I quickly hit the point where the small bed (120x120mm) was preventing me from moving forward.
So, last week I grabbed a used Ender 3 Pro with several upgrades for $80. Since then I've added a few more (double Z axis, belt tensioners, gantry support struts and a teflon tube setup). It already had a magnetic PEI bed, quiet stepper circuit board, all metal extruder and a few printed brackets and upgrades. It's pretty nice, and I'm all in about $120 now. I don't think it would have been worth the price new, with all of those upgrades put on, but $120? I'm happy with it.

I use Octoprint, it took 5 minutes to get it plugged in and running from the print driver.
