The closest I came to seeing The Band was catching Garth Hudson on this tour with The Call. Man, 1983. Time flies, great tune...

The Band has always been one of my favorites.
One of my biggest regrets is that I was never able to make it to Levon's home for one of his Midnight Rambles. The Midnight Rambles were legendary in the area where I live. Levon started the rambles to show that he had regular income so he could refinance his place. The tickets were $100, but worth it based on the artists that joined each week. Friends were always going and bringing along some food for the potluck dinner at each event. I just couldn't find the time. It was always "maybe next time". Unfortunately, that time never came for me.
