The ship pictured says 'Panama'....is that the name of it or something to do with the Canal?

KNS 11-29-2023 05:34 PM

Country of registry.

I just searched my question and was surprised to learn that Liberia has the most registered ships behind Panama.
I understand Panama....but Liberia?

Very low taxes on the shipping company by registering there. Of course if they are in trouble with pirates calling the Liberian navy is not much help. It would be interesting to learn if a USA registered ship flying the stars and strips is less likely to be attacked by pirates. I have no idea.

I have just over two years underway and had I known how much I enjoyed the experience, might have gone a different route.

When you post the pictures of the ships in your Port, I really like to see how they are constructed for the job at hand. I need a life:cool:

I'll keep them coming for ya, Seahawk. Should be 3 or 4 more before season's end.

I loved working with these ships spent 49 years at it (retired now) and miss it.
