Anyone Want a Big Boat Project?

This is the Mother of all projects and a great deal for the right person.
1998 Cruisers Yachts 3572 Esprit 39.3ft
Im told The engines were replaced at a cost of $30k each, then the owner moved the boat after that was completed, but where he moved it, someone brought in a boat to store that was infested with some sort of termites that did a lot of damage to several other boats, including this one. This boats retail for between $60 & $70K in good condition. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701796114.jpg

Is that the Dead Boat Graveyard? And in the quiet of the night, under a full moon, a lone 2 stroke can sometimes be heard.......

Rot 911 12-05-2023 02:10 PM

Seems like the smart move would be to buy the boat, pull the engines, sell the engines, and then junk the rest of the boat.

Buying boats especially those is never a smart move.

The first one shown , put it on a piece of property and instant tiny house .

greglepore 12-06-2023 07:28 AM

That boat needs a flare gun and a 5 gal gas can.

Actually, all the ones in the back, he bought if he needed a part, and later, would replace and sell the boat.

There is one thing (other than the trailers) in the back lot that has value and is restorable.

Good one Byron!

Being as I can get sick just standing on a dock, the only one I'd be interested in is the one I circled in this picture.

What is it about boats. they either cost a fortune or people can't give them away.

A few years ago the guy next door sheepishly phoned and said I've bought a boat and can i park it at your place. I said certainly not and what's the story. He said he'd had a few drinks and saw an online auction about to close for a boat on a trailer for one dollar and bought it. It turned out to be the hudgest boat you could fit on a trailer and severely jaded. After a NO from me he parked it about a kilometre away at a boat launching ramp. A short while later it was surrounded by police who thought it odd and maybe a drug runners boat. I think he ended up paying dump fees on it.

They cost a fortune to buy new and a fortune to maintain, most people do not maintain, then they sit because they cost to much to repair because they were not maintained. Then disposal of what is left costs a fortunate, so they try and give them away.
