Tony Stuart Moving up to Top Fuel
His wife, Leah Pruitt, is taking a break so they can start a family. She was third on points this year. She literally lost the championship to Doug Kalitta on the last run of the last race this year. Tony ran the alcohol car all year, doing a credible job for a rookie. Top Fuel is going to be a whole other ballgame, though. I think he's up to it.

Oh, the Stewart Stuart. :D

Saw that on Yahoo this morning. I will be interested in watching him. Its a big jump from alcohol to fuel. Hard to believe he wants a kid being in his 50s. I can not imaging keeping up with a 10 year old in my mid 60s.

The thing is that older guys can do very well in drag racing as long as their reaction times are good.
I'd guess that the mean age for professional drag racing is higher than most other forms of racing. TS can do well if he has the right crew chief. I say go Tony! |

(But yeah, old guys can drive these things well into their golden years; Chris Karamesines drove until he was 89.) |
Didn't Big Daddy have retina problems as well?
|
Tony definitely has a life well lived!

I know Kenny Bernstein suffered retinal separation, but I didn't think Don Garlits ever did. He suffered a foot separation, but that was for other reasons.
