No wind issues. A good friend made me some water-jet cut steel plates approx. 4"x6" that sandwich the rafter with 4 nuts/bolts. This thing does not move at all - even when the wind blows.

My dish at Latitude 47 north in Seattle has steered itself in a NW to West direction. You can down load the starlink app, then it has you point your phone camera all around the sky and it'll show you a map of blockage due to trees or buildings.

If you want to get an idea how this system works, check out https://starlink.sx on a PC and put in your location. You will see you POP and the satellites you are connecting to and the ground station. You can see up to date status of the says. Interesting.

Nothing direct. But I live in a very rural part of Texas. It's 80+ miles in any direction to the nearest big city. Because of the rural nature of the area and lack of good broadband Internet people on the regional facebook group are always asking about "the best internet access" and there are always several folks that love their starlink.

I have great luck with my T-mobile home Internet or I'd probably have switched by now.

Wed live in a rural area too. We had Direct TV and a local internet provider that transmitted over a radio network after buying broadband from Cox. Together they cost us about $270/mo. The internet was pretty limited. We finally went for Starlink for $120/mo. for internet and TV (Firestick). It's a much better system and much faster than what we had before.

I have not, but many of my friends have and love it. The Starlink App is excellent.

I have the small Gen 2 for the farm and it, as I probably written before, has been a complete positive. Next month is a complete review of our communications needs, including phones, TV satellite dishes, etc. based on the goodness of SL to date.

Think I might buy one before my USA Nov trip or next trip to Slovenia in Jan, both would be a good test

We have taken our Gen 2 to SC and it orients itself without help. At the farm I just use a C-Clamp on a leg to our wooden deck and it does the rest.

Once we move, I think we are going to go Mini at the house and for travel.

I'm trying to get Starlink now. The installation company I chose is expensive and sucks ass. NEVER go with Starlink Installation Pros out of Austin TX. No customer service, absolute moron install techs, and wayyy expensive to boot.

…I ended up getting a new router to replace the off-the-shelf unit from AT&T. Much cheaper and it seems to make a positive difference.

Thanks for the link, just discovered Amazon plan to roll out later this year some competition, Project Kuiper, only 7" square and weighing 1lb, much smaller/less weight than the Mini

It is a much higher criticality to have non-stop internet in a non-flyover state. Us in the flyover states have given up on our dreams. Nothing matters to us. I have stated this before when folks say their homeless entrenched streets are paved with gold.

For sure. I just "watched" the OSU/Tex using our crappy DSL. Multiple 2-3 minutes pauses while buffering.
