Yo Capt. Carrera!

How's your pool game going? Looking for a good aiming system? Here, one being demonstrated in Anchorage, Alaska, is the one I preferred using after I had some time at the table. I'm sure it used by all the top pros...

Hi, thanks for asking PWD. My aim is better, but not perfect. I'm also working on where the cue ball ends up. I can make three or four shots, then I miss a couple. Usually the culprit is an inadvertent death grip on the stick.

Watch top pros squaring off on youtube...study what they do. Stay off the booze. And practice-practice-practice.

Everybody misses...even the top pros miss. But they are excellent at calculating %ages of shot difficulty...knowing when to shoot and when to "duck" with a safety. I'd suggest you not worry too much about cue ball control until you improve shot making...3 and 4 ball runs are considered "banger" territory. "Banger"...the low skills player who thinks they are better than they are...the ones hustlers love to prey on. (edit) In 8 ball, making 3-4 ball runs only helps your opponent, especially on a bar table. You're only clearing obstruction balls to make it easier for your opponent to run out.

On the other hand, my honorary nephew, one of Oregon's top 5, hated playing a "banger" in a handicapped tournament, where he had to win 7 racks to the banger's one or two. Why? Because the banger, not good at knowing shot difficulty percentages, will shoot at anything, often lucking out enough to win the match.
