Makes me wonder what's really under the hood. Probably more than the vanity plate says...

Every Saturday in San Clemente, the biggest Cars & Coffee in the world occurs, no less than 1000 cars with every type you can imagine.

I'll bet that's a nightmare to turn. Anyone not running a spool rear end would find that to be unwieldy to handle while drag racing. I'll bet that's not his daily.

Yeah, you see some crazy stuff in L.A. on the freeway.

I don't share the enthusiasm for early Sunday morning static car shows.
It's more like a status car show.
Lived in So Cal all my life so have been to and seen many with coffee cup in hand bow to the church of material things.
I'm interested when these owners show basic skills and participate at a drag strip or road race track.

Had a spool in my old drag bug 40 years ago, differentials have improved since.

Recently had a locker in the 5 road race car but prefer the Wave trac open diff.
It's like an old torsen gleason like in my 10 car but better.

The Wave trac allows you turn and be on the gas.
No push/understeer on throttle as is the case with a locker or spool.

It’s funny because Tyson was just educating me on the Wave track yesterday. The car in the OP was definitely just being moved from one place to another, there was a beautiful ‘63 Fairlane drag car behind me that I could not get a photo of. This was in Burbank on the 134, Bob Hope exit.

I’ve never been to one but the reason is different. I don’t really care about the owners, I would be there only to see the cars. My problem is that I’m not getting up at 6am to see anything on my day off. I’m a spoiled cat.

He's not turning and on the gas in that thing. I guarantee that.

I used to do a lot of C & C's, and drives too. It gets old. Same ol' same ol'.

Back in the day I took Grady Clay to Bob's in Burbank for the Friday night cruise in. Man, did he ever love that. It was a pure Eagles Hotel California sunset and evening.

its a sacrilege to use one in a Porsche 915 in some circles, my Wavetrac has worked great in my race car.

Never tire of fat tire threads.

12 front and 14 rear on the old 911.

Jamie Lipman photo.
American Racer slicks start off crappy and then get worse, they were cheap and the right size, next set switched to Avons.

13 wide fronts (to reduce the understeer ) and 14 wide rear on the Pancho Weaver car.

Why is it sacrilege now?
My old 915 had a 60/40 LSD with the clutches that had to be refreshed occasionally.

I'll be Selling a set of 14x15 Fuchs (built off a set of 11s in the 70s) soon. A very well known racer had them built.

Brilliant pic! If she says anything about the tires, move the blindfold down a few inches. If she keeps bitcing and moaning...

You gotta admit, it's pretty cool how the rain grooves on the freeway mimic the tire tread.

(That's my favorite year of the Falcon)

Mike, son of Eric Rickman (public relations and they called him the father of NHRA) lives about 7 houses down from me. He rotated between his and his dad's collection between the house and his storage. Oh yeah, a rumble to wake up on the weekend is a treat to me but not so much for the rest of the neighbors.
