How to violate the center of gravity? Well done!

I know what that feels like. When I was 20, I was in the back of a pickup when it went off the road, flipped, and rolled over me. I broke bones and had a ruptured liver and spleen. Fun times.

But was I being an idiot? Well, yes. Long story, but I flew up to Bridgeport CA with friends to go backpacking in Yosemite, and we needed a ride to the trailhead. It was about 10PM and the only place where there was anyone to ask for a ride was the local bar. Our driver, needless to say, did not have full command of his faculties. BTW, it took 8 hours to get to the hospital. That was a long night.

All five suffered life-threatening injuries, reports KKTV.

Yep, the 2 people hanging out of the windows on the side of the car look like they would have nearly been cut in half by the roof.

Some of which may have been caused by bystanders rushing over and pulling the injured out rather violently before assessing their injuries. That is more ignorant than both riding outside the vehicle and it flipping.

I hope those that intervened are discovered and found to be liable, then tapped with a lawsuit that will ruin the rest of their lives.

As for the injured, well what can you say? I've been stupid and lucky. They were stupid and unlucky. No pity.

Oh my god. What a nightmare.

(I did similar risky things with stranger's cars and my thumb in my 20's and I still literally shudder when I think what might have been)

Yeah, the pain was unbearable and the blood in my chest cavity made it very hard to breathe. My strategy was to keep my eyes open all night because otherwise, I would never open them again. The surgeon said he'd never seen a body with my injuries who was still alive. I like to say it was the worst night of my life, but also the best, because ever since then, I've lived every day with incredible appreciation and joy, because I'm still alive. That's why I bought my first Porsche, a 1970 911E. YOLO, baby!

It takes an awful lot to get me down. Every little first-world complaint we tend to hear sounds petty to me. I'm in my 44th year of bonus life now. I hope those kids recover and get to have bonus lives of their own.

Just a little severe. Yes, ignorant, but worthy of ruining the rest of their lives? There are young and dumb. We all make mistakes. Oh wait, maybe some of you never have.

Around here it's usually Dodge Challengers, Mustangs and Camaros. We've had some major craziness mostly ended last summer with the Charlotte Police impounding 90+ cars and arresting scores of dudes. They are still racing late at night on I485 around the north end but the street takeovers have mostly ended (or at least it's no longer news).

All this. Unless they are medically trained, good samaritan law applies

Yep, young and dumb, and trying to help. I have to imagine that if there were 50 people present, and 5-10 tried to help while the rest stood around and continued filming, that the 5-10 that tried to help are worthy of some "hey, trying to help was great, but, FYI, in the future, unless they are in imminent danger due to fire or something, you may have caused more harm than good."
