Painting Some Towel Bars

I am redoing a bathroom, and looking to paint my towel bars a matte black color.

I know the easy button is Amazon and but new, but what I have are the right style, very well made, and too good to dispose of. Plus, I need more jobs....

What's the best process for a durable flat finish? I'm thinking water sanding the existing lacquer (?) topcoat and get down to a good base. Then a 2k rattle can primer, water sand again, and topcoat with a flat black Tremclad enamel? (Topcoat might have to be sprayed, not a rattle can?). Then 'baked', or at least kept very warm, for 48 hours.

Automotive paint seems like overkill, but maybe that's a better route for a good result?

I am not doing the faucet or shower handles, they will be bought new. I just want a durable non-chipping towel bar.

You might test the finish with acetone to see if it is lacquer. My bet is no, Likely powdercoat.

Scuffing and some bonding primer like XIM is my go to before paint.

Anything smallish like a TB is gonna get spray canned by me. A spray can normally has a small cone pattern. There are those that have a spray fan pattern which is handy for larger surfaces.

I have seen single component epoxy in rattle cans. Today's paints are not your dad's paints. Paint has come a long way. IDK about hybrid enamels in SC's yet. But if so that's good paint too.

Hmmmm....Looks like Krylon matte or satin black Fusion 'All-In-One' is worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions.
