Can't believe it is here already.
I'm still having trouble reconciling how the DoD has money to send an entire football team to Ireland for a game. We are already taking bets in the family on how long it takes Manning to leave Texas. Anyone here wanna make a prediction?

I had no idea what was going on until Saturday morning when I tuned in to Marty and McGee on SEC Network. They had some great insight on how this will adversely effect CF. I can't seem to find a video or audio but I'm sure it's out there.
Basically this and I agree: We all like CF for what it was, not for what it is becoming: THE NFL Lite We like our rivalries (Regional not bi-coastal) They are both big NASCAR guys and pointed out the the Big 12 Commissioner was the head of NASCAR during its boom that eventually led to its bust. So keep an eye on that. The biggest, most seismic, changes to CF have come in the last few years: NIL, player mobility (essentially free agency), and now this realignment. AND each are changing the game for the worse. Which conference will implode first? This isn't sustainable. Hawaii has always had problems due to travel. Now imagine a west coast traveling to NJ or NY for a February basketball game that isn't in the top 25. Which AD is going to want to pay for that travel and which media outlet is going to want to cover it? They will have to book multiple games in a row to make it cost effective, basically an MLB road trip for "students". One thing is for certain: the Academies need to get out of this nonsense ASAP but I'm sure they won't because the General Officer alumni get too much of a chubby out of trying to compete with the big boys. As if they are in the same league, at least in CF.

I just heard an example of the extra travel miles due to the re-aligning...
Next season, USC will be traveling 16,000 round-trip miles for it's road games.

Just realized it...this is probably going to be the last year of a rivalry dating back more than a century. The last year of "The Civil War Game" between Oregon & Oregon state...with the Ducks moving to the "Big Whatever" conference.
Oh well, it was only a big deal to those living in Oregon. In other words, who cares?
