pelicans, the nba, and baby king cake
I don't do sportsball other than the UF football schedule and that is only to avoid traffic.
Been seeing a lot of images popup in my FB feed from one source, and lo and behold there is a Pelicans NBA team! Didn't know.... So if this is old news to you.... you've probably seen the Baby King Cake mascot that is back for Mardi Gras season this year... Turns out, that it was made by my almost-cousin (dad's first wife's nephew) Jonathan and his crew over at Studio3 in NOLA. Jonathan is 4th or 5th generation float maker, with a family history from Viareggio, Italy to Rio de Janeiro to Gainesville to NOLA.
