New chevy equinox killing turbos

Bought new 2 years ago. Now with 35k miles and just killed the second turbo…

Warranty and unload ,or keep around for the long haul?
If not? What to replace with? Thinking a Mazda 2.5l non turbo appliance box.

That doesn't sound good . Any idea what the failure cause is ? If the dealer/GM is not willing to extend the warranty I say unload it .

My brother-in-law bought a Chevy Cruze brand new and it ate turbos as well.

At 60k, he parked in his driveway for several years until I got it. I installed a brand-new turbo and sold it for $3000. That car was terrible.

Service writer said it’s common when it’s extremely cold. It also cracked the intercooler and sat at the dealer for 3 months when it was brand new (waiting on updated part to be made and sent to dealerships)…

GM beta tested that platform on the customer…

Based on that longevity doesn't sound good . I say fix and get out if you can without losing $$$ .

Get replaced under warranty. Explore all options.

In the meantime, run synthetic and let cool down for 5 min after any hard run. But they do need to be exercised.
There are shut-off timers available.

This seems like some unnecessary band aid.

I bought a defeat so the auto start/stop is disabled after the first turbo went out. Guess the heat soak wasn’t the issue… Just poor GM quality.

Must be a gas engine issue , their diesel turbos don't have early end of life issues I am aware of .

I don’t think GM fully R&D’ed their car platforms. The Truck and large suv’s seem to be quality products. However, a bare bones half ton Silverado 4x4 is 45k and even more for the 5.3l V8…

My expensive lesson on why the Japanese own the market…
