Spam Email Laws?

I keep on getting spam emails from the same company even after I tell them to take me off their list. The problem is that they are from all different email addresses and they are selling different things, its some get rich quick scheme. Are there any laws regarding this like with telemarketers? I know that with telemarketers if you tell them to take you off their list they are required by law too. Any help or information is greatly appreciated!

No laws (yet) - slashdot.org often has good information on spam and consumer rights, etc.

If you just want to get rid of it, I've been using Mozilla for a long time now and it has GREAT spam filters for the email client built in. www.mozilla.org

Stanley...By contacting them, you have verified that your address is a valid one. Get a new name, and in the future, just delete the stuff. They are HOPING you will answer them. Then they can sell your ifo to others.

Never, EVER reply to spam. In addition, never click on the links they send you, no matter how tempted your may be by lesbian hamsters gone wild - that's another way for them to validate your existence.

OTOH, many spam campaigns are "dictionary" based now - they don't work from a mondo list of email addresses, they just try all the common names and psuedonyms. It's horribly inneficient, but it's free.

I used to get all kinds of spam, Then for a week or two I clicked on every single one with a remove link. I no longer get any more spam except for the one in my first post. A friend told me that he did it and it cleared up all of his spam.
