January Reminders
Change out smoke alarms
Change out passwords Check on your emergency preparedness kit - fresh water, batteries, meds, other Remove ancient stuff from your refrigerator Update your will Update your life insurance beneficiaries Discard your tatty old underwear and buy some new ones Reach out to an old, out of touch friend |
Thanks for the PSA. It would take most of January for me to get through that list, so I spread them out.
The hardest one for me is reaching out to old friends. Just hard to do. |
Here in earthquake country, I give my homes gas & water valve a little twist to make sure its not stuck. I drilled a hole in the gas valve actuator tab to allow a lever rod to be used by my wife.
After an earthquake I turn off my homes power and measure the voltage for a while. The 95 quake caused long term low voltage and TV's and Microwaves got killed by the dozens. All my survival / camping gear is in the corner attic storage which will be at ground level after the big one. |
I like the last one. I recently texted an old friend I haven't seen in a year. Turns out he has Parkinsons-he's about my age and that news shook me up. I'm going to visit him tomorrow.
That's a good list. I have the earthquake kit update two times a year on my phone, and I change alarm batteries two times a year when the clock changes. ( I want to install an auto shutoff valve on the gas meter. It looks easy and pretty cheap insurance. ) |
Hayes did have a proprietary 22mm mount, but they also sold adaptors to go to standard post and IS mounts, so you need to determine whether there is an adaptor under the caliper and go from there.
