More Good News - Colt Announced Blued Pythons

Big news at the SHOT Show this year, Colt has announced they are going to be making blued Pythons again.

I love my 6", but that 4.25" sure looks good.

Very nice!!! I love my 3” for what I got it for, taking hunting when in mountain lion territory.

It’s a stainless one, but maybe I’ll add a blued longer one.

Oh my .... my baby Diamondback (.22) has wanted a big brother for over 4 decades .... hell, I can't even feed the ones I do have ... but what's one more ;)?

Are the new Pythons on par with the classics....???

Un$ub$cribing :D

Anybody know if the new-gen Pythons have the same crazy 'clockwork' internals as the earlier models?

My late 70s nickel 6" Python has the sweetest double-action pull. It is incredibly light and hot-knife-through-butter smooth.

I'd love to see Colt re-issue the Diamondback, maybe with a 10-round cylinder this time. Love to shoot me some cheap .22LR rounds

The new lockwork is quite different from the old lockwork. Gone is the "stacking" of the double action trigger pull. That might be enough to sell me on them. While my late '70's 6" is a wonderful gun, I much prefer the double action pull on my various Smiths, which don't "stack".

My first handspoon was a M27 .... a present to myself for surviving my first year of college .... it was a siren's call ... just couldn't help myself :D

I would buy a Diamondback reissue in a flash.

I understand Colt worked out their QC issues

Python and a lever gun in .357 are in my future

I have a new Python as mentioned above and 6" SW 686 and I would say the fit and finish and action are better on the Colt. The 686 is nice though, I just do not like the frame lock (not that I have ever used it).

I just discovered Colt started offering a King Cobra in .22LR, with a 10-round cylinder. Wonder if it is as good a shooter as a Diamondback?

With 10 round capacity and MSRP of $999, which is about about 40% of what a nice used Diamondback would cost....it is tempting.

Here's the least expensive .22 Diamondback I could find; ouch!

NFW, that thing was one tenth of that new.

I like the King Cobra, despite the stupid name and the atrocious looking grips.

I would pay extra for it not to be shiny like that, and the UPC code on the side of the frame would have to go.

I handled a new King Cobra a while ago. Lovely trigger feel.

OTOH, my old S&W Combat Masterpiece worked by my smith has a better trigger, especially DA, and cost less.

I would buy the (blued) Python for the looks alone. They are such gorgeous revolvers.

However, my spoon budget is currently directed toward guns the legal purchase of which are potentially at risk.
