Hollywood warned of AI in 1973.
I just watched the Tucker-Elon interview. As Elon spoke about AI, I could not help thinking of the movie Westworld I watched as a kid in 1973. The robots had the ability to learn and eventually decided humans were the enemy.

James Brolin and Christian Bale really look alike.

2001: A Space Odyssey was released in 1968.
In the sequel movie 2010, they explained that HAL was programmed that the mission was more important than the humans, so he took actions to take over. |
Remember Westworld well. It surely left an impression. Titillating with the idea of smokin' hot female robots who wouldn't say 'no' and scary with the dangers that came with sentient robots.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolis_(1927_film) was about a female robot that enthralled and gained control over the working class, leading them into rebellion and the destruction of society. The idea goes further back from Frankenstein' monster to the Golem. Create something powerful and independent which gets out of control. Anything could be substituted.
