New grappler tool
I've never heard of this....but it looks like it works. Cool stuff.

I feel like I've seen a video of that working back when it was a proof of concept a few/several years back. It's cool that it's in practice now. It certainly does a better/safer job of stopping a chase than a pit.

I found this from a 2 year old youtube video...shows better how it works.

Fantastic!

The only thing I would be concerned about...the strength of that stretchy strap.
If that thing broke while stretched out, it could take the windshield out of the leo car. |
It must have something that grabs the tire. The “… goes under the rear tire” isn’t going to work from if your coming at it from the rear.
|
Very cool!
Appears that the net is pushed into the tire and goes over and around with the rotation to wrap the wheel. Needing to get close might be a problem with some cars out there though. |
At the 2:00 mark of the above video it looks like the bars on both sides force the straps under the tire. Then the tread of the tire forces the strap around the wheel.
Just my guess. |

The target car is still not going to drive very well, if at all. |
