Bird Feeder Camera

These things are cool...I just finished hooking mine up, just have to mount the solar panel.
Walmart has the Birdfy brand on the shelves but I went with this one from Amazon...same price.....

Just click on the app and you have live video from a foot away from the feeder...or closer yet if you buy one of the feeders with the cam built in.

You can even use the app to identify what kind of bird it is. Just freeze the frame and it gives the info.

The one I bought has a built-in rechargeable battery and a good size solar panel for charging it.
It's easy to hook-up...took about 5 minutes.

Here's a video from a Birdfy....basically the same as mine.

I bought just the camera w/solar panel because I have the feeders hanging from a big tree...so I just mounted the camera to the tree.

Turtles are grumbling.

Steve Carlton 02-26-2024 08:23 AM

They’re saying you better watch your shell.

^^^
I think the turtles could see me out the basement window....wondering wth?

It has a motion detector in it so that you can just browse the thumbnail of each visitor and play a clip of each one. It didn't come with an SD memory card but it is ready to take one. For an extra $5 a month a person can use cloud storage if wanted.

I looked for a way to share the video stream, but it says that the other users need to download the software that I did for the app.

Cool....

hrm... this may work for some game cam action on my buddy's property

Will depend on how far I can get a wireless signal with a cantenna mounted somehwere

stevej37 02-26-2024 09:05 AM

^^^ The tree I mounted it on is halfway across my yard...so from the router inside is about 75 feet.
The app is showing I have 4 out of 5 bar signal strength. And since adding the solar panel, the app shows full strength battery level. (it is full sunshine today)

Their is also a mic on the cam so that all the sounds can come thru if wanted. And a speaker to shout at the squirrels.:)

Their time is coming...it's supposed to be 60 here on Tues. :D

In case anyone is wondering...the streaming video is 1080P HD

It's very vivid and no jerkiness to it. And no electric plug-in needed.

Well...if they think they have it bad, I'll start giving them bird seed....instead of freeze-dried shrimp.:)
