My latest Interceptor.....an '86 with RED wheels!
Just arrived this morning. Bought her from a CL ad in South Carolina. Got her shipped door to door for $650. Was supposed to be $600 but I think they added $50 for the 4 boxes of spares that came with her.
The bike is in 95% perfect condition. Mechanically everything works and is all original except for the paint job and windscreen. Came with a title but since it's out of state I have to get a VIN verification done - no biggie. Then I can get her re-titled, registered, and get a tag. It came with the original front and rear wheels in their original colour, original (2) side fairings, a seat cowl, original windscreen, and a bunch of spare parts. One key fits all 3 locks and she came with her original tool kit too! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709134769.JPG Note the infill panels......you don't see those on too many of these older VFR's! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709135054.JPG |
I know they have methadone for heroin addicts.
What do they have for a VFR addiction? |

Damn Baz--that looks sharp with the red wheels and blue tint screen.

Sweet Mother of Pearl!
So nice. What’s that make? Eleven-teen Interceptors? 🤓 |

Pretty sure it's 8 now...... Thanks, everyone.....I'm pretty stoked right now! :) |
Looks quite nice Baz.
|
I love it. (although I am a bit biased as I still have an '86 500 Interceptor :D)
|
OK Baz, I know you're not supposed to ask this, but what did this beauty set you back?
I'm totally in the green with envy group here as I loved my '82 Sabre and would have gotten one of these if I didn't have a family to support. BTW, did you see the 1000 VFR on Bat yesterday? |
I'd plasti dip the red spokes white just to tone down the red a tad.
|
When I saw the title I immediately thought Jensen!!! [emoji23]

That's a beautiful bike - maybe your nicest one yet with all the extras added on but I'm starting to think you need an Interceptor intervention!

Nice, very nice.
But there is a line line between being a collector and a crazed hoarder. |
That is SHARP Baz, congratulations!
Your bike is more proof that the 80s was the best decade. What are the specs on it? I wish you were closer to Amelia Island, I'm driving down tomorrow. |
Dang. That thing brings back so many memories of my high school days, riding with my gang of friends!
|
I think the red wheels look good on that bike. Especially since the body work is white with red. The red wheels match perfectly, and I would not switch back to white.
|
Thanks everyone - appreciate it!
I'll get the title transferred tomorrow and get her registered and a tag. Specs here, Shaun: https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/honda_vfr700f_86.html Pretty sure I won't be buying any more bikes - Interceptors included - for quite a while. Of the eight I own.....six are running and have current registrations and tags. Two will need some restoration work, which I eagerly look forward to! So that will be my "mission" over the next year or so. The red wheels have grown on me and will be left alone. The paint job on them is nothing short of immaculate! I think I've finally reached the Holy Grail of Interceptors, within' my preferred 2nd generation. And yes Scott....I did see the '84 VF1000F on BAT.....it sold for $7K! Mine was less than that.....;) |
Baz has an addiction.:D:D
