The Beekeeper

This movie ROCKED. If you like Jason Statham, and who doesn't, you will love The Beekeeper. Good story, good acting, plenty of fight scenes including several that were outstanding, Jeremy Irons was a nice touch.

This is available to rent for $19.99. Yowza. To me a rental that I can only watch once is a $3.99 kind of thing. I guess I've got to wait a while to watch this one.

Does Statham beat the hell out of and kill those that deserve it? Hope so...

That seems insane even if you have a home theater. Who would pay $20 to it on a tiny little "55 inch" screen? I saw it on IMAX, it would normally have been $20.99 but I have the AMC A List deal it was free to some degree.

I agree. I rarely pay even $3.99 to see a movie on Amazon, like once a year, but at least it makes sense. And since Netflix canceled its DVD mailing, which I think was $12/month, I could at least pay for 3 on Prime and no difference.

Exactly. I might pay to "rent" a movie via a streaming service 1-2 times per year, and then it's probably $2.99 or 3.99, and has to be something that either the missus or I REALLY want to watch. If I think I'm going to REALLY enjoy the movie enough to rent it, I'm more likely to buy a DVD/BD. If I/we rent, it's more likely due to it being a special occasion so we're "splurging".

Damn sure not going to pay the price of a DVD/BD to stream a movie one time.

On the other hand, if you go with your significant other to watch it, you’re probably going to spend $40-$50 for tickets, refreshments, etc. Looking at that, $20 seems cheap.

My last surf trip was to Nicaragua. The place we rented had a TV and DVD player. We took some DVD's.

Two of them that I remember were "The Lord of the Rings", "The Usual Suspects", and "The Transporter".

The Transporter series are the best of Statham's works, IMHO.

Look forward to seeing "The Beekeeper".....thanks, Shaun!

I looked at a few movies, older ones, I would pay to see on Amazon and they were all $3.99

With this tooth situation I'm not able to get to sleep as early as wanted lately so watching some streamed stuff and last night it was a Statham movie on Netflix called "Redemption". Was pretty good - definitely different.

Yep, that's the normal rental price on Amazon. I assume it's only new movies that garner the $19.99 price.

Yep, I saw that a while back.

I haven't ever seen a Statham movie that I didn't like (granted, I haven't seen them all, or likely even most of them.

I liked Homefront too.

Wow... I thought this was *the* dumbest movie I ever saw and I almost walked out... The scene with the minigun? But then again it seems pretty popular so i guess it's me, and I mean no disrespect to those who were able to suspend disbelief. Clearly my ability to do so is broken and I thought it was ridiculously over the top. Last statham movie I really liked was the mechanic (1), hell even the first MEG was fun. But this one, I was choking on the stupid.
Goes to show you, we're not all the same... I much prefer a more realistic approach (early bourne style)... The idea had potential though, who likes internet scammers...

I liked Homefront. I can't believe it came out 11 years ago. You have to click on the link.

Statham is proficient in multiple martial arts.
