Volvo V70 CL ad - look fishy ?
Hey guys this ad caught my eye yesterday and I haven't called yet . Does anyone have red flags looking at the ad ? Something just doesn't look right to me but maybe I am being paranoid . The area code looks to be right for the area listed . Thoughts ?

It seems odd to me it has " R " wheels and engine badging but no mention of that . And I thought R's were all wheel drive ?

Really crappy pictures that look almost like screenshots of photos from the Internet more than photos uploaded from a cell phone. Yes, photos show one thing, but the important details AWD and R from the photos didn't get mentioned in the ad.
The entire ad is in ALL CAPS. Sheesh! my guess is either the seller is a clueless moron or it's a scam/bs listing.

It looks to be an R wagon. I have a 2006.
The seller obviously doesn't know what it is exactly. 3K is cheap, but you could easily spend that much or more getting it sorted. The 05 with the automatic transmission is actually a 5 speed. Again, these cars can be expensive to sort out. Suspension/ Shocks are costly and often times the AWD is not working (angle gear) But the engines are pretty stout, if maintained and not overly modified. All that being said, I love mine.

Also the R is a 2.5 liter. The non R turbo is a 2.4. It's actually a better block.

This price I would expect for an R with something wrong with it.

CL ad not presented well, but it looks to be a decent car. At that offer price I would suspect some issues; transmission would be my biggest concern. Since it's in-state, definitely worth a phone call to get more details.

The ad has mileage at 123,301 but the pics show 146,685. Definitely an R but also definitely a scam.

dewolf, the mileage difference in ad description and picture is an obvious big red flag that I missed in my quick look. I now change my opinion to skeptical. However, if this is a real V70R then it might be a great deal. Grandma drove a hotrod wagon.
