I saw a car driving past in traffic with a wallet on the roof. I did the both arms wave and pointed at his roof. He looked at me kinda angry and carried on driving then stopped for the traffic light. I ran up grabbed his wallet then showed it to him through the window. Haha, he got out almost crying and hugged me and said thanks and he has just had the worst day in a long time that could have got even worse.

Before I retired, I had access to the most ridiculously powerful magnets I have ever seen. Downright dangerous to get your finger between two half dollar sized examples. They would certainly clamp hard enough to raise a good blood blister, maybe even hard enough to break a bone.

So, of course, I thought is was funny as hell to put one in the bottom of a Starbucks cup, or inside of my wallet, and put it on the roof of my car as I drove home from work. Out on the freeway at 70+ mph. People honking and pointing, all in a twitter. Not a one of them considering just how on Earth a paper coffee cup could stay on my roof at those speeds. Good times...

I had something similar happened to me years ago. I was driving on 285 around Atlanta and noticed this lady’s purse on top of her car. I finally got her attention, waved my wallet and pointed to the roof at her car, when she realized what I was trying to tell her. She slowed down and started to move over, while I forged ahead.

Who doesn’t have a photo of their license / passport / proof of residence on their phone somewhere?

Anyone wise in the ways of cyber security and ID theft.

There are worse things than not having an ID when pulled over. At the least you will get a minor ticket along with possibly a ticket for why you were pulled over. Just drive right for a few days. I haven't been pulled over in 20 years and that was for a questionable too quick of a lane change. No ticket. I was polite. Had a load of drywall in the bed of my PU hanging out. It didn't require a flag as it was not over 4' past the taillights.

They gave me a photocopy....but didn't issue a license because my reading eye wouldn't pass......never had them test both eyes. I asked what would happen if said if I was blind in that eye. No answer......now I have to schedule an eye test at an ophthalmologist.....

Lots of folks only use one eye .... you should have recieved your license :(.

My brain somehow "tunes out" one eye for distance, though I see peripherally, and actually read using it too.

When I look through their machine, I see ABCD ____ WXYZ .... unless I close the eye being used.... then I would see ____ 1234 ____ :D

At 64 I still see great both near and far ;)

No specs :)
