e bay refund question

I don't buy much on ebay but needed a shower temp control valve that is back order for 4-6 weeks locally and no most plumbing suppliers are out. I would have bought from Amazon if they had it but found one on E bay. Bought it but it is completely different from the description or the picture. I only discovered that the seller will not take returns. 130 bucks down the drain and it can't be used anywhere else. Is there anyway I can notify ebay for a refund? I don't even know where to begin? I tried to click on as many items trying to resolve it but found nothing. Tips?

Haven't used Flea-bay in years, but seems to me it all depends upon how you paid as to what your options are? Did you use a credit card or Paypal, etc.?

After clicking on purchase history, does it say return window open or closed on the item?
If closed, what KC said is what I would try.

(If open, click on it.)

You probably paid with PayPal, so you could try and see what they might offer for help.

Check the listing, most usually have the EBay Money back guarantee. Since the item is not as described, you will be refunded. In most cases you do not have to return the item

This. Steve, the seller stated no returns. That's OK if the sale is good. But if the description is bad, eBay will take the money back from the seller. Do this a few times and eBay will drop you and your IP.

I'd contact the seller first and explain the problem. Maybe they will do the right thing. Whatever you do - if they ask you to request a refund - make sure you indicate the item didn't match the description. Do not say something like "I changed my mind". Otherwise you're on the hook for return shipping cost.

Credit Card.

I followed your instruction and click product doesn't match description and asked for photos. It doesn't allow to load photo. Blocks me out from there.

I don't shop ebay or on line much but any idea how to contact ebay on this? I have a feeling the seller have all intention of just unloaded this item without returns.

This alone means you should get your money back.

If you have a "typical" CC, then dispute the "misrepresented item" charge with them. My .02 ... free of charge.... good luck!

Hopefully your CC is not like the one I had, then dropped years ago when they stopped offering protection for Internet purchases or charges further than 75 miles from my home address .... poof ..... gone

Good luck!

With my wife's help and a lot of yelling by her (at me, of course), I finally wrote to the seller. We will see but here's the damn thing. Its not even the same size as the box.

I had that issue once with a Cayenne part. The part sent was totally different than the description and the picture. the seller said we use stock photos and they don't always match the description and they don't accept returns. I contacted my CC company and explained the issue. They sided with me and even though I did not have to I returned the part and my CC even covered return shipping. Call your CC company and forget dealing with the seller let them deal with him.

You can still open a return request if the item is defective or not as described. On the ebay home site upper left click Help & Contact. Scroll down to returns and refunds, follow the prompts from there. Or call them, i believe the customer service number is 1 800 456 3229. From my experience as a seller they tend to cater to the buyers. Hope this helps.

That right there is why I use - and pay for - Amex when buying everything that doesn’t come from Bezos’s octopus. I’ve had no issues, ever, disputing charges.

The difference between them and (say) Citibank - which I also have - is like night and day.

Try to look around. It should have option to upload pictures. Return on Ebay is usually the easiest.
