I Hate New Cards

When new, they are slippery and very hard to shuffle....I hate them.
They end up going all over the place until they are old and broke in.

I'm not buying any more new ones until they offer used type cards as new ones.
All the young guys can have the new shiny slippery ones.

Thank you very much.

LOL! Know anybody in Reno or Vegas? Casinos used to sell used decks...dunno if they do today.

I probably wouldn't play cards with that guy.

I think casinos purposely damage used decks and give them away. The may be playable, but not at the casinos.

My SIL and her husband used to work in casinos. They had lots of used decks. Each one had a 1/4 inch hole punched through the entire deck. Some hole punch!

I used to have a hard time shuffling new cards until I learned how to properly shuffle a deck.

Yeah me too, New Cards don't have the raised numbers anymore to use in a paper credit card reader.

I received a new credit card a few weeks back...it was replacing an old one that had a chip...same as the new.

New card worked fine in all restaurants and grocery stores....no delay to it.

Gas stations were another story. Every time I used the new card, it would lock it down while it processed....except the time from inserting it to when it started the pocessing would take a minute or more to even start. (and then there was the usual wait for it to be ok'd)
Finally last week it wouldn't process at all and left me with the card locked down.
I had to ring the inside attendant a few times before she came out.

She had a key and reset the pump. The card released when she reset and she asked me if I ever use the tap feature. I had seen it on the pump but never used it.

She tapped it right then and the pump signaled it was ready. Since then, I've used it that way every time....it's immediate gas now. no waiting at all

Wish I would have known about that when I got the card.

I worked at a casino in college (mid 90s) they had a big drill press to handle the job. seemed like they were swapping in several cases of new cards every day. I would go home with stacks of them. I used to donate them to the school my mom taught at and gave away hundreds of decks to friends.
