Really need some HELP- Power washer and Foam Cannon

Hey guys, I'm at my wits end.... I need some help......

Soooo something that seems so basic and simple seems to be over complicated and involved. To me... this is wwaaaayyyy to involved for me and I would really like for someone to send me a link that says, here... buy this one.

Here is a pix and I think I need a male to female adapter...... from what I understand its either a M22 14mm or 15mm on the male side and a 3/8 in female end.

I'M TRYING TO CONNECT A FOAM CANNON TO THE END MY POWER WASHER WAND.

I think that's what it is... oooh and the plastic wand is a "square" thread (?) whatever that freaking is!

Can anyone send me a link to buy the correct adapter?

I can't send a link but I do remember that there are both 14 and 15.

I sorted it out on Amazon once, but forgot what I learned.

Why are there at least THREE different types of standard air hose fittings?

And then...as a newbie mechanic..let's not even get started on industry stupidity At least 10mm is guaranteed missing.

Take the hose into a box store.
They should have the parts.

You'll need to get the correct female quick connect for air hose, I believe the pressure washer hose fittings are 3/8NPT.. you can probably find a quick connect with 3/8 threads.. just make sure it accepts the fitting on the foam cannon

Lowe's or Home Depot will have what you need.

The foam cannons I looked at do not use air. Just a PW quick connect. Air fittings have nothing to do with this.

AFA the 3 air fittings shown, I only know of a 3rd as a universal.

Take another look at the pic the OP posted, then compare that to the photos posted with air hose fittings... remarkably similar... probably because that is a air hose fitting.. on the foam cannon

I have one of those for my little pressure washer but you push it in and give it a twist to lock it into place.

Sorry, Tim, not seeing anything but the connect and blue knob for feed. I see the black power cord and the HP hose with the connection to the pump. Looks like a variant of one of these on that page.

IDK why air pressure would be needed. Admittedly I don't own one.

You are most likely correct.
On second glace, the first air coupler profile is different from that of the OP's or Tim's power washer.

Add in a FOURTH or FIFTH type of fitting for the standard 3/8" hole connection.

Doesn't your pressure washer wand have different nozzles?? The foam cannon just pops in in place of those. If yours doesn't have switchable nozzles just go on Amazon and buy a new handle. Cheap as can be and most come with an assortment of new jets...

And while you are there buy a flexible 50 foot pressure washer hose and throw the short stiff one that came with your washer away...and never look back.

Foam Cannons Rock. Get a real pressure washer and not some little electric job.

What's the advantages of using foam or canon? Is there no scrubbing involved?

Pazuzu 03-22-2024 07:31 AM

Even better, get a wandless wand, basically a pistol grip. Makes the whole thing 10x easier to deal with since you don't have 2 pounds of water hanging off the end of a long pole

The foam uses enzymes to loosen dirt. It just about floats away when you rinse. Great for light abrasive type dirt and even better for organic deposits on the paint. The PW rinse is part of the system and if you have ionized water for a rinse you can just drive away to dry.

It's a day to day or week to week thing but does not substitute for proper surface cleaning meaning clay bar, polish and wax on a periodical basis.

clay bar it and ceramic coating = a rain will literally wash the car...

I've considered a foam cannon, but read some reviews that say they are only so-so. I would really like an easier way to wash the Tundra and Volt. I like getting up close and personal cleaning the other cars, but I just want to get the Tundra and Volt clean and move on.

This is for you then. A good cleaning, as I said, will be necessary periodically.

The ceramic coating mentioned is a great product that comes in a myriad of forms. Some is quite difficult, ot at least labor intensive to use. I did my truck and it was easier to keep clean.

But more you don't let the cars get dirty, the better the foam works. Not the best product to use after off roading in the mud. No experience, but I think it would be pretty good right after coming in from salted snowy roads.

Just what you want to do when you get home after a drive in those conditions. No worries, a robot will do it for you soon enough.

Calling Roomba....
