I remember
 1974, '82, '83 .... Like it wuz yesterday .... Now what did I have for lunch yesterday  ?edited: I used to work at the Research Triangle (fresh outta college in '83) ... there is nothing like it when State, Carolina, and Duke (only a few miles separate the three) go at it .... it's college b-ball at it's finest! IMHO

The JMU coach told 'em they weren't playing Grant Hill, Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, etc. ... the legends of Duke's past.
He probably wished they had been .... those guys are old! What a butt whuppin'

Did not watch but Duke JMU but looked at the box score. In the Coach K days a turnover to Duke always meant that they got 2 points. Saw JMU had 14 TO from the box scores. Is Duke still punishing on fast break transitions?
Duke is showing they are to be reckoned with.

Duke was on fire from 3 pt. land and in every aspect of their game yesterday .... if they play their remaining games like that one, they will win it all....
Unless State beats 'em In any given game .... ??? March madness

I used to keep up with ACC basketball, a Wolfpack fan. All of the NIL, transfer portals, etc and I lost interest in college sports.
It used to be a coach would make efforts to recruit and develop the best players. Deonne Sanders made news with firing most of the football team he took over and hiring top players. It looks like Keatts has quietly made a basketball team at NC State from players that were so so at other schools. Burns may be an exception. Horne was a HS local from Raleigh but transferred from AZ State. These next games will be interesting. Will we see a UNC Clemson matchup to see who gets in the final 4? If NC State can get by Marquette, then they will probably have Duke to face. It seems none of the MSM have caught on that there may be a team of "transfers" winning the NCAA Tournament.

 . I became a basketball junkie (both attempting to play) and as a fan, around '72 (born in '60) watching (and listening on the radio) to the Carolina Cougars, and State was my college team .... ABC (Anybody But Carolina) until Worthy (my hs bud had to guard him once ) and the MJ years. Since I don't have ESPN, I'm seeing all three play for the first time on CBS .... and I still watch March Madness .... I still love b-ball, just don't watch it ... and the game changed with "one & done" talent .... miss the old daze for sure! State verses Maryland (ACC tourney) is still the best game I've ever seen, and David Thompson the BEST college player too .I have "no team", pull for all NC teams, and just like great games .... that being said... Go State !

Got home from a soccer game and sat down to watch NC State - Purdue. Once the gamw started the play by play and commentary was in Spanish. The Wolfpack weren't hitting and falling behind. During an early commercial break, I fell asleep.
Woke up with about 10 minutes to go in the 2nd half and they were 12 behind, Had they fallen asleep, too. No, from watching the rest of the game, they were getting outplayed. They got within 5 once and were behind as much as 20. As sooner or later says, Don't ever give up" and they didn't and lost by 13.

Didn't see the game, but they did themselves proud during this late season run. After being in the shadow of Dook and the Tar Babies for several decades.... Go State !
