AFAIK they haven't filmed in the US since 2021. Our own member rennch had Mike over for some drinks and convinced him to introduce that episode of his YT series. This was in Long Beach CA.

Doing some good cars this season. But the episodes these days seem to farm out a decent portion of the work that doesn't make it on film. Mike and Elvis were posting stuff on social media recently about being in Australia. Sees like they were filming down there.

I stopped watching it when Ed left. I think a few others stopped as well because it went off the air here. That guy Ant was too much of an alfa dog to work with Mike and it have the same style as during the Ed days.

Show is OK. I record it and watch it sometime during the week. An Alfa Romeo GTV tonight.

I always like that generation Supra. I had a 1986.5, the first of the next generation, black with tan cloth, non-turbo. In 50,000 miles it only needed a thermostat, which was replaced under warranty. They used to advertise 200 hp and 0-60 in 7.7 seconds like it was a good thing. Decent for the day, I suppose. I wanted the turbo, but was keeping the payments down.

Drove mine with 60K on the clock from DC to Long Beach for the Indy Car or CART race. Made the mistake of taking it to Chaco Canyon. When NM says unimproved roads, they are serious. Cracked the thermostat housing allowing for vacuum leak. Fixed in Barstow by the Toyota dealer for $45. They had to drive to San Bernardino to get a part, still no upcharge. Then getting off the 10 in Pomona, couldn’t find any gear, got it into 5th and then tried to find a dealer. Ended up in El Cerriotos or some similar place. Convinced it was something very serious in the trans. Pleaded with the service manager to try to keep repairs reasonable. Got a call 4 hours later saying the car was done. Cost $90 mostly to remove console and diagnose a broken bushing where the shifter met the housing. (Again from my NM venture). Rock solid car, sold it to buy a black with lipstick red 951. The car I should never have sold.

The show started out fixing up old cars for under $1000
and selling them for a profit. Now it's all about Mike's ego and the flip. That's great if your aspiration is to be a used car salesman, but most of us prefer the nuts and bolts of the repair and despise the sleaziness of the car flipper. Mike has intentionally diminished the repair part with every season, that's why Edd China said adios. At least Worman makes fun of it in his show: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think the buying and selling of the cars is an interesting twist in the story. Evolving upmarket as the show's budget increased kept it interesting. I've always perceived Mike as a good-hearted guy with an abundance of enthusiasm. If you don't like Mike, watch another show. There's plenty of them.
