Robot Lawn Mowers?

Anyone here using them?

I've got solar panels on a hillside to mow underneath and I'm tall and the space isn't.

Has me wondering about them.

Got a pic and how many panels? Have you considered making the area underneath a no maintenance zone ... (i.e. put down a weed barrier and cover with something)? Mulch, pine needles, thin layer of rocks/gravel, etc.? A bit of work but then you are done. Just a thought... I've got a PITA area at my parents' (about 1K sq feet) that I'm doing that too ... with about 30 plants, weed barrier, and long leaf pine needles... no more mowing around, annual crepe myrtle trimming, and weekly edging a 120' driveway side ... for me .... yay :)! But I'm earning my freedom once with some bucks and sweat this weekend... once ;).

Sounds like you are looking for electric goats. I don’t have any experience with the electric ones, but fur and hoof ones are PITA, babies are cute though.

Roundup and Crossbow are your friends.

That crossed the noggin' as well.

Not sure how goats fair against Coyotes though.

I look to avoid these things in my food, no way I want to bring them home.

They are on my kids campus at Uni of Tulsa.

Pretty cool.

They maintain the main green which is huge and always looks great.

We were sitting at a light the other day and I saw one unattended out mowing the lawn of a church or something on the corner at an intersection.

^^^ Yeah, I've seen them mowing the section of grass between the sidewalk and the curb with the front wheel riding right on the curb.
Makes me wonder what happens when walkers, or bikers get in their path.

When my son was in high school he got the contract to do the mowing around the businesses in town. They had a large lawn out front of the offices and a bunch of trimming to do all the way around the building. He had two 21" Toro self propelled mowers and hired schoolmates to help for a while, but he wasn't happy with that arrangement.
So he got an old wire spool somewhere, wrapped some rope around it, staked it to the ground in the middle of the lawn, and attached the rope to one of the mowers. Starting in the middle, he fired up the mower and let it go. It unwound the rope as it mowed its way around and around the spool while he did the trimming with the other mower.
The kid is a born engineer + entrepreneur. I wonder where he gets it. ;)
