I would want to know a lot more about the mechanicals, but the price isn't off the charts. At least not compared to that Mustang POS what went for a quarter million+

I like white cars for daily drivers, but for a hotrod?

C4 chassis? It would handle like a Festiva!

The engine's interesting... That looks like an air to water inter cooler.

Probably more $ in the build than received in the auction....

That looks like one that fellow Pelican PorscheDoc built a couple of years ago.

I like the idea.

Not sure that's duct tape , might be wrap.

I'm wondering about the springs in the left bottom of the pic .

Summary: All steel RSR body sitting on a 1990 C4 chassis. Modern conveniences, blinding speed and dependable.

Details: An all steel RSR body sitting on a 1990 C-4 all-wheel supercharged chassis with 17" Fuchs wheels provide excellent handling and old school looks. Countless hours went into this one-off build. All the convenience of a modern Porsche with the look of a 1973 RSR. Excellence magazine featured this RSR tribute and praised the build process. The sunroof and air conditioning provide comfort and the supercharged engine provides the fun.
I'd have to test drive something like this to form a proper opinion.

Has anyone here driven something similar (minus the body mods)?

About 14 years ago I test drove a C2 and C4. I bought the C2 and then had to sell it 18 months later when I got divorced. They're both good to drive but they're very different. To me the C4 felt like a front wheel drive car... Like my Golf but much faster.

I have to say, I find peoples reactions interesting. Without knowing the quality of the build, you really can't say if the price is fair or not. Assuming, the build was done correctly, I don't think $53k is outrageous at all. I would think the seller lost money on it.

I believe that car has a thread documenting it's build on Pelican.

My thought as well...seller lost money. But then, very few Porsches gain in value.
Mods also shrink the number of people willing to bid while adding little, if any, value to the car.

The moral here? Mod if you must, but do it for yourself. Meaning for your own driving enjoyment without any thoughts of getting the money spent returned.

From the pictures and description, it looks like a fantastic car. People build lots of these RS and RSR clones, they go for good money with a lot less engine and chassis than this car has. I could do w/o the C4 part but everything else about it is beautiful, IMO. And yes, a lot more than $53k went into building this.

It does look like a Porsche Doc car. He seemed to prefer 964s.

I would have to check for the issue number but I think this 964 was also an Excellence featured car.....
