How did you do?

You posted a conservative and political link in regular off topic.

I’d call that a fail. I’d pm a mod to ask that the post be moved to PARF but,,,,SmileWavy

Cool story.

Yes, the website is political, but the story is not political, and you don't have to go to the link because the article was included, but I assume the link is included to give credit to the hosting site. I don't see a problem with it.

Here's a mainstream media link about the guy

I saw this guy a while back. I didn't think he persisted. I was wrong. He did oil changes and really all kinds of things. I wondered how he could ever keep coming up with subject matter or was he going to get desperate and resort to videos about putting away socks.

The truth of the matter is there are folks like me that teach while keeping the subject at the forefront and then there are those that put the human face to the subject. They do much, much better. People do learn from YT, but mainly the masses are just gawking.

That explains the huge success of shorts. Now TY demands a million views of shorts before one can monetize. I quit making videos.

Very cool. Lord knows the Internet needed a dad. I fail to see the politics.

So many kids today grow up without a father, I can understand the popularity of his help.

I can tie a tie, or I used to be able to, and I have not tried in years. One of my many goals in life is to never wear a tie again. I last wore a tie to go before a judge to be the executor of my parents estate. I had to wear a coat and tie when photographing so many weddings, and now it just brings back bad memories of working and sweating with a damn rope around my neck and wearing a coat.

Putting away socks is a useful life skill. It has taken me a lifetime to learn the importance of putting stuff away.
One of my fondest memories is teaching my son (technically step-son) to tie his tie before the prom. (He asked to drive the Speedster to the prom but I said "No" and I'm still kicking myself for it. It would have been quite a memory for both of us.)

(snip)

I quit making videos.

And that's a shame. Your videos are great. You get right to the subject and don't dance around it for 10 minutes before actually imparting some instruction. I automatically skip the first 1/3 of most how-to videos because it's usually bull5hit.
"Today, we are going to show you how to wipe your ass. But first, here is a 20 minute history of ass-wiping." No thanks.

I think the concept in the OP is great! Instruction in basic life skills is badly needed. A lot of today's parents don't have the skills themselves, so how are they going to teach them.

I'll watch some of his videos and see How Dad Did.
