What a weekend for gear heads!
F1, WEC, IMSA, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, WSBK, and MotoAmerica all in one weekend!
To see what Wayne Rainey has built with MotoAmerica is quite amazing! |

I was at Talladega today. Listening to the drivers on a scanner was interesting.

Best part of the Nascar race was watching Tyler Reddick win, then seeing Michael Jordan palm his head like a basketball

The worst part of watching NASCAR was watching McDowell pull a bone head move in front of Keselowski and wreck the field at the finish, the only big wreck of the race. At least Brad was able to stay straight and finish in place.
I think a lot of folks pegged BK to win. He wasn't in 2nd place for that many laps by chance. Excellent dual between the 2 lines for about 18 laps. |

I can't remember that date whether it was the Die Hard or Winston sponsored race. Spring or Fall. The other race that year I was a spectator. Working a race is a long ass day. |

My first 'Dega race was in May of 1989, yep the spring race used to be in May back then, with the 2nd race being in July. Davey Allison won the race that day. The next time I was there for a race was in 1993 when my sister had 2 free tickets to the Busch race. I lived in Talladega for a few years, and in 1998, I got tickets for the Busch race for 30 bucks each. My brother-in-law and I went, and we were in one of the towers right across from pit lane. We saw the return of IROC that day as well as the last round of qualifying for the 500 and then saw the Busch race. We definitely got our money's worth. The track was celebrating its 30th anniversary that year, and all the tickets were 30 bucks!!!
I've been to the Motorsports Hall of Fame several times also. The last time I was there was for the memorial service for Dale Earnhardt. It was held the Monday night after he was killed a day earlier at Daytona. I'm not all that much into Nascar anymore, but I did catch some of the race at Talladega yesterday.
