$7 for a box of cereal nowadays. Unreal.
Capt Crunch with crunch berries, was my go to when I was a kid. . |
The jingle in the Sugar Crisp ad reminds me of church camp.
Anyone else? |
Not me, but both of the voices sounded familiar. Looks like Sugar Bear was voiced by Gerry Matthews, in the style of Bing Crosby/Dean Martin. Granny was done by Ruth Buzzi. I saw her a lot on Laugh-In.
I liked the casual, Superman-level strength, unstoppable nature of Sugar Bear. |

Since I’ve been on the program, I’ve been measuring out a serving size of about one cup. It’s not much! A bowl of cereal is probably 5 or 6 cups |
I took a class in American Sign Language in Junior College and the sign for Cap'n Crunch was "blood mouth" because it would tear up the roof of people's mouth.
I never had that problem, probably because I ate it so fast. |

The one cereal commercial I absolutely hated as a kid, was Honeycomb.
Stupid "Honeycomb Kids". Always wanted to reach through the TV and knock that stupid hat off the one kids head! :D . |

We rarely had cereal and then only Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies. Mostly eggs and bacon from a nearby farm, mom made great blueberry pancakes too. Never heard of Sugar Crisps. Was the bear supposed to be stoned?
