Painted Brake Calipers

This couldn't possibly qualify for anything "Technical" so I'm posting this here.......

No real reason to post this.... just because.

You guy ever end up taking on a silly project with no real expectation of it turning out Ok, but it turns out Ok ? (Note that I didn't say it turned out great or anything like that )

So the wife went out of town for 1 day/night.... I found myself with some RARE free time, not to much but a day in the garage is super welcome!

Youtube inspired a silly easy quick project........ Painting calipers..... seemed simple enough, didn't have to buy anything, just needed a bit of free time. PERFECT.

Ordered some Porsche decals...... turned out to be too big didn't fit the calipers..... Oh what the hell, let's go for it anyways......

Over the 30 plus years of having my bucket o bolts, I had thought of painting them, they were beat up, brake dust black and grungy anyways... so what if the decals are big, you can barely see the calipers anyways, LET'S DO IT!......

It worked out pretty easy, was fun, did it in a day.

It turned out OK (see above)

And yes... i do have a bike to build, thats exactly my point... i had 24 hours, needed something to fit into that time frame.

My plan is to get the bike on the road by the end of the year. Thats the plan....

Did someone mention brake calipers? I spent over an hour removing all casting marks and breaking radiusing all sharp corners. Baked on VHT Caliper Paint.

Not too shabby for an off-road SxS.

These red calipers must be vintage?
They are so small?
Project Mu pads on my new Alcons fit in a 16 inch wheel.
